We will attend Make Munich 20th-21st April '13

Make Munich is an exhibition which will take place on the 20th/21st April of 2013, where we’ll share trends and innovations in 3D printing, DIY, hacking, tinkering and crafting. This is the first event of it’s kind in southern Germany, and we look forward to connecting people in the DIY community.

Spar Point Group published an article on bitBox

SparJustin Toland contributing editor at the well-known Spar Point Group travelled to “the charming city” of Aveiro to interview the creators of R2C2.

We talked about the importance of a fast, 32-bit, high-quality motion controller developed specifically for 3D printing and highlighted our commitment to open source so people are able to adapt the controller’s firmware to their own products.

bitBoxWe gave special emphasis to the expansion board that is used for upgrading modules, for communications, wireless and others. “The new users [of 3D printers] will need to interact with our technology via the web and smartphones."

The value of the community and the future of the 3D data capture was also discussed. Whether this meant using smartphones for capturing directly the data or go to the web, select some parts designed by someone on Thingiverse and click and print it"

Roll Up Robotica 2012

Mário, our newest co-worker and his squad “QuatroTeam” are going to compete in Robótica 2012, the 12th Portuguese robotics open.

Their car, devotedly named Yoshi, uses parts that we helped design and develop. 

To produce Yoshi’s parts we used our 3D printer, equipped with the R2C2 kit.

Build your printer and print your ideas. Your imagination is the limit!

Printf.bot prints!! This is the new RepRap 3D Printer

It's missing only a few hours of year 2011 but we were able to put Printf.bot printing before the new year Smile

Printf.bot is our prototype of the new RepRap 3D Printer, designed by Whosa whatsis in OpenSCAD. Whosa whatsis did a great job!

It (Parametric printrbot variant) is inspired by the Printrbot, but is a complete redesign in OpenSCAD to be more robust (without the loose press-fit mountings), but still extremely simple.

This new RepRap 3D Printer have a RepRap wiki page that  we helped to improve. We also shared some photos and this video there.

Bob implemented beep code on R2C2 firmware so that GCode files could notify important events. As an example of the possibilities, he created a GCode file to play some seasonal music:

New RepRap 3D Printer -- Printf.bot "prototype"

Printf.bot is our prototype of the new RepRap 3D Printer, designed by Whosa whatsis in OpenSCAD. Whosa whatsis did a great job!

It (Parametric printrbot variant) is inspired by the Printrbot, but is a complete redesign in OpenSCAD to be more robust (without the loose press-fit mountings), but still extremely simple.
